Summary: Construction cranes are capitalintensive items and it is of utmost importance to ensure full utilisation of this equipment and, wherever possible, a prolongation of the projected useful life. In contrast to this goal of economic efficiency the steel structures and crane drives can only endure a limited number of load cycles as a function of the determined fatigue strength.
